images, both new and old to address ssrious topics and sometimes
adding a touch of humour. Using vintage images to illustrate life
through Giselle's eyes=processed overindulgent, overfed shiny plastic
western society versus the rest of the world. Through the easily
recognizable nostalgic images are soothing, while broadcasting
what can be dark or controversial subject matter. Western society
is viewed by many as evil because of its affluence and decadence.
At the same time, the west is also revered as the place to be and
its monetary rewards are goals to achieve.
