Besides being a painter, Jana Skarecky is a composer whose works have been performed on four continents. In the visual realm Jana has worked with watercolours, especially with the veil painting technique. Most of her recent paintings use the medium of acrylics.

Jana finds working as a composer and an artist sparks something new and sitimulating in each area as many of her paintings were created in parallel with her compositions. One could say she paints music, striving to let the unseen become visible and the unheard become audible. In September 2005 her exhibition "Healing of the Earth" at the ACA Gallery in Toronto was accompanied by a concert of her compositions related to this theme.

Since 2003 there have been annual exhibitions of Janas paintings at the Adamson Estate in Mississauga and her work has also been exhibited in Stratford and in Toronto.
