Born in Toronto, Julie Glick was raised in an artistically obsessed
and creatively invigorating environment. Working primarily in oil,
Glick's work is sensual. Her paintings have strong representational
foregrounds, at times supported by abstract form and texture. Julie
Glick pursued an education in the Arts at a variety of schools
including the Ontario College of Art, the University of Toronto,
the Avenue Road School of Art and semi privately in the studio
of Catherine Hobart. She has participated in over 20 solo and group
exhibitions. In 2003 she was awarded the Spirit of Chinook Award
from the Scarborough Arts Council. Glick’s work can be found
in private collections in Canada, the United States and Hong Kong. |
