whitehot | More About WM's Ben Pezzillo
A professional photographer since age 15, Pezzillo's mentor-taught
photography skills were honed by formal education at the Pittsburgh
High School for the Creative and Performing Arts and Pittsburgh's Manchester
Craftsman's Guild before Pezzillo graduated from Pittsburgh's Schenley
High School (Andy Warhol's alma mater) and entered Ohio University's
School of Visual Communications in 1991. After completing his B.S.
at Syracuse University in 1995, where he was the art review editor,
Pezzillo found employment as an entertainment industry production worker
and moved to Los Angeles in 1996.
Pezzillo began photographing Los Angeles at night with a digital camera
in 2001 after recouping from the removal of a skin cancer from his
forehead. Pezzillo now works full time as a photographer for the City
of Los Angeles. Pezzillo and his wife are loft dwellers in the Historic
Core District of Los Angeles' Gallery Row. |
