Rebecca Lolosoli started Umoja (means Unity in Swahili) in Kenya
ten years ago when women who were beaten, escaping genital mutilation,
forced into marriages or raped. They came together to create
their own village.

Island Public Natural School and Orde Street Public School
with teachers Brooke, Michael and assistant Melissa had Carol
visit the school to talk with elementary school children
about how other children live in Third World countries.

Youth Leaders - Patrick Byam is a young man on becoming
tomorrow's leaders. Last year during the CONTACT Photography
Festival I meet Patrick who came in to view the exhibit and
we started to discuss international humanitarian aid issues.
